About Us

We started our Sikh Initiative for Mental Health Awareness (SIMA) in loving memory of Harsimran Singh, whose kindness and spirit continue to guide us every day.

Our nonprofit is rooted in the belief that mental health matters just as much as physical health, and that no one should have to struggle in silence.

We're here to create a safe space for open conversations, raise awareness, and support one another within the community.

Together, we're breaking down stigma and building a more compassionate future.

Mental Health Counselor

Hi, I'm Parwinder Badyal

MA, LMHCA

I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor committed to providing compassionate, culturally respectful, and evidence-based care. My approach is integrative and client-centered, incorporating CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness-based strategies to help individuals manage anxiety, depression, and relationship stress.

I believe therapy should be personalized and collaborative. Each client brings unique strengths, cultural values, and life experiences, and I tailor treatment plans to reflect those needs. Together, we create clear goals and practical strategies that support meaningful and lasting change.

My work focuses not only on reducing distress but also on enhancing overall well-being, resilience, and confidence. I deeply respect the importance of ethnicity, language, family dynamics, and cultural identity in the healing process.

Outside of work, I value balance and self-care through reading, meditation, movies, and spending time with loved ones.
